CO
San Antonio, TX -
Following a retreat with Susan Komis, and after time spent in
discernment, COSA has restructured the chapter using a three
co-coordinator structure. The new Co-coordinators are Cleo Tamez, Bill
Daly and Savario Mungo. The chapter is extremely grateful for the
leadership of outgoing Coordinator Homer Bain who was a strong force in
the development and ongoing growth of this chapter. Although retired,
Homer will remain part of the leadership team in the honored position of
Coordinator Emeritus. The chapter is excited to be participating in the
presentation of a three year course entitled, “Christian Mysticism:
History, Wisdom and Insights.” This is being done in cooperation with
the Oblate School of Theology and the Ecumenical Center. The
Coordinating Committee includes Sr. Mary Agnes Zinni, Cleo Tamez, Rudy
Tamez, Bill Daly and Ed Alcott. Dr. Alcott is the coordinator of the
program, which starts September 16, 2007 at the Colonial Hills Methodist
Church in San Antonio. There are over 200 participants enrolled. Our
offerings at the Omega Center in Boerne include a three day retreat with
Fr. Carl Arico, a Lectio Divina Workshop and an Introduction to
Centering Prayer. We continue offering Introductory Workshops in area
churches, which has resulted in four new weekly centering prayer groups
at the First Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, St. Joseph at Honey
Creek in Bulverde, St. Peter the Apostle in Boerne and St. Francis of
Assisi in San Antonio. COSA and AHOC coordinated the formation workshop
at Cedar Brake Retreat Center in Belton, TX. The week included regular
and 11 step formation. Myrna Toohey, a team member of COSA was on the
faculty. Bill Walker, a leadership team member, attended the training.
We now have a total of 8 commissioned presenters in the chapter. This
next year we plan to have members attend the Welcoming Prayer Immersion
Training in Nashville, TN. Savario Mungo, Co-Coordinator |

Ogden,
UT -
We would like to report that our Ogden Centering Prayer group continues
to meet at least monthly and more often if possible. As a result of a
notice in parish bulletins about our meeting, we have added five new
members and there are two others interested but because of home or work,
are unable to attend the meetings. We are thrilled with the new members
and are looking to add more again this coming year. We are continuing to
read and discuss Fr. Basil Pennington’s book “Centered Living.”
With new members, however, we are showing some of the tapes of Fr.
Keating so they will get a firm foundation. All enjoy these tapes even
those of us who have been centering for a long time. They say “it is a
good review.” Contact Person, Sr. Danile Knight @801 479-6030, .
